Australasian Professional Society on Alcohol and other Drugs (APSAD)

APSAD is Australia's leading multidisciplinary organisation for professionals involved in the drug and alcohol field.

APSAD is the pre-eminent membership organisation catering to the interests of professional alcohol and other drug workers in Australasia. The membership of APSAD is drawn from such diverse specialities as clinicians, practitioners, educators, policy specialists and academics.

APSAD offers various forms of professional development for health professionals.
- Subscription to the Society’s scientific journal, the Drug and Alcohol Review,

- Discounted registration to the Annual APSAD Scientific Conference.
- Discounted registration at selected AOD conferences including the DANA conference
- Subscription to the quarterly APSAD newsletter

APSAD offers a range of other activities for members. A conference is held annually, with this year's conference scheduled to take place in Melbourne, 18 -21 November 2012. Regional conference and workshops are also supported, often jointly with other professional organisations. APSAD also produces a quarterly newsletter, to keep members up-to- date and provide a forum for discussion.

The Drug and Alcohol Review is the Society's official journal. Celebrating its 30th year of publication, the journal is listed on the international database, Medline. Published bi-monthly, the Review presents original research, policy development and information in the drug and alcohol research field.
